I colored another mandala today. I went with a rainbow theme today with some glitter in the middle.

I colored another mandala today. So relaxing. I recommend it if you ever have some downtime.

I started this mandala yesterday and was able to finish it today. I finally found time to color again. It is such an amazing way to relax. Coloring a mandala is a lot like meditation to me. I just feel so relaxed afterwards.

I plan on doing one the next 2 days while we are camping as well. Going to enjoy some downtime while I have it.
This morning I woke up super early to go to Austin's Cap 10K race. Unfortunately, before I even left my house, it was cancelled due to a really bad storm. I lost power at my house. Without power, I decided to do something I hadn't done in awhile. I decided to pull out my Mandala book and color a mandala (by candlelight as I had no power).

I find coloring to be so relaxing. I wish I had more time to focus on it.
About 5 months ago, I was trying to figure out what to get my sister as an ordination gift for getting ordained as a minister in the Methodist Church. I couldn't think of anything special enough to make her know how special she was as she inspires so many people. As I tried to figure out what to give her, I decided to color some in an inspirational coloring book I bought. My first thought was maybe I color an inspirational saying and frame it and give it to her. That didn't seem special enough. So then I thought I could color the whole book for inspirational sayings --- but that wouldn't be enough. Then it hit me. I spent the last 5 months quietly reaching out to her friends and family and asking them to color insipirational coloring pages for her to create a book of inspiration. The would color the page and then they could write a note or anything they wanted to say to her on the back. By the end of the project, I had over 200 pages. I organized the book by her life: family first, childhood friends, high school friends, college friends, work friends, etc.
I share this with you because it was a huge hit. Not only did she absolutely love it, but everyone who participated really enjoyed the coloring and sitting down to do it made them think about Emily and it really inspired them too. Now anytime she is having a hard day, she can flip through her inspiration book to be inspired as well as reminisce about the people in her life who love her.
Feel free to copy the idea if you are looking for the perfect gift.
I enjoy life by spending quality time with friends and family as often as I can. I'm a foster mom as well as a fur momma to 3 sweet kitties. I love movies, photography, music, TV, food and travel. I'm also teaching myself Portuguese with Duolingo.
